Stunning Double Room for rent in Brixton £595 plus bills
Lovely HUGE double bedroom available in 3-bed houseshare. The house is situated on a lovely quiet street in the heart of Brixton, just a 7 mins walk from Brixton tube and the fabulous Ritzy Cinema. The room is fully furnished and includes a king-sized bed and built-in bookshelves.  There’s also a large eat in kitchen, lovely courtyard garden, 2 part lounge with real open fire place and a brand spanking new bathroom that's just been fitted. A bit about us: We're vegetarian, and try to be pretty eco, we have a house veggie box, have a wormery, recycle whatever we can and like to potter in the garden over the summer months and attempt to grow things! If you're interested in ethical living that would be a bonus. Other houseshare interests are yoga, meditation, cooking, hanging out with friends, travelling, ethical living, festivals, architecture & cycling - basically enjoying the delights of London life!
If you know of anyone who's looking for a real place to call home and not just a house-share, then please get in touch.  Contact Angeli on 07795361105 - room available immediately, bills come to around £70 per month, but oh so worth it as house is just gorgeaus!

FOR SALE - A COUPLE OF BARGAINS
In the spirit of new year clearing and one woman's stuck in the cupboard is another's 'just what I needed!'
A pair of women's trainer style MBT shoes. Size 6. White with pink stripe. Funky. Not worn much, good condition. Cost £165 and happy to sell for £50.
Amazing inflatable, double guest bed, on a metal frame. Very robust, takes 2 substantial people, passionate activity and being jumped on in the morning by joyful children! And somehow collapses down to a very manageable size, even coming with its own little house that has wheels on, in case you need to travel with your bed! I've only used it once as it is in fact too big for my space. There was no room left for my guests once it was up. So it really is as new. Paid £170 and happy to sell for £50.
If you are interested, do call me on 020 8960 2325, or email.

Veggie flatshare - Vauxhall
I am looking for someone to share my sister’s beautiful flat in Vauxhall, initially with just me, and then with me and my sister, when she is back from travelling in July. It is clean, attractive, peaceful, spacious and well decorated. The flat has two bathrooms, living room, kitchen/dining room and a roof terrace, and is 10 minutes walk from Vauxhall and Stockwell stations in a quiet location.
I am looking for someone quiet and considerate, who wants a peaceful, clean, attractive home, and who doesn’t want to have someone staying over often. You would also need to be willing to not cook meat or fish in the flat as I am vegetarian.
The rent is £400pcm plus council tax/water/internet of approx £75 per month. Gas, electricity, landline calls and cleaner for main communal areas are extra costs. There is also a deposit of £400. The rent and bills need to be paid at the beginning of the month.
Please give me a call if you would like to have a chat - landline 0207 0621119, Mobile 07782 207789. Agyana

Ruth would love a little help from her friends...
I feel very privileged to have got onto the 5Rhythms Teacher Training in April 2010 and will be having a fundraising event:  Bringing together dancing and Playback Theatre to raise funds to take me to the Teacher Training.
Come and dance and do your own thing with me, at the Ground Floor Arts Gallery Candid Café, Torrens Street, EC1V 1NQ on Sunday March 14th. Angel Tube (5 minutes)
Dancing 4-6pm (It has a wooden floor)
Then Playback Theatre from 6.30-8.00pm with Playback South.  Details www.playbacksouth.org
Playback Theatre is an original form of improvisational theatre and community ritual, in which audiences are invited to tell stories from their lives and watch them played back on the spot! Often we have stories in our dance. In using Playback today, there is the possibility to bridge from the dance into seeing feelings, moments and stories played back before you!  Or there might be stories from previous times. Or you might just want to be entertained!
Come to one or both events, I would love to spend the time with you.
All donations will be gratefully received and go towards her 5 Rhythms Teacher Training starting in April. (If you are unable to attend the day but would still like to support me you can contact me directly details below).

Hello, Are You Here?
A Movement of Being workshop
with Fanny Behrens
This is an invitation into a landscape of profound and simple awakening to the reality of what is. What is it to fully be here, in this moment, in your body, in your emotional and mental condition, at this time of your life, and in the history of the planet? What does it mean to face reality and open to it and live into the potential of what you are actually here for at this time?
As the world does what it does in these changing times, how can each of us wake up to meet what is here, fresh, alive, touched and empowered to come forward?
Working with dance, movement, self-enquiry, and an attitude of curiosity towards all that we meet, this weekend workshop will provide an introduction to the Movement of Being work, as well as a deepening for those already involved.
22-24th January @ Moving Arts Base, Islington, London
Fri 7-10pm; Sat & Sun 23rd-24th 11-6pm
Price - sliding scale £90 - £300
Please apply in writing, or by phone

Looking for a drumming group..
Hi all!
Happy 2010 to you all!! My name is Deepa and I am curious to know whether there are any drumming groups out there that I could join? I went to Sue's session yesterday, and through my dance I discovered that the rhythm I would like to explore more of this year is staccato. I am a fairly musical person so think I'd pick up things fairly quickly. Anyways, please do get in touch!

NEW YEAR WORKSHOP WITH JAN DAY: PASSION, POWER & LOVE
28th December 2009 - 2nd January 2010 @ Poulstone Court, Hereford
Dear Dancers,
I wanted to share the above with you and say, if you are looking for a meaningful and juicy way to move out of one year and into another, in good company, this might be it.
PASSION, POWER & LOVE is a 5 day gathering of human beings, in circle, in movement, ritual, meditation, exploration and dance. For me Jan's work really meets the edge of the 5R's practice. It is essentially about intimacy, being a person in the dance of life, and how to meet and love ourselves and eachother more. It is very beautiful to be in a circle/family/community like this, and journey through all the waves that we are and make together, into a brand new year. Yes I have done this workshop before! And I will be there on this one too, but mostly in the kitchen, dancing to Leonard Cohen, cooking and bringing food to the table!
If you would like to know more you can go to Jan's website: www.janday.com
If you would like to ask me anything, I'd be happy to talk to you.
Maybe see you there...
HALLELUJAH & LOVE

Looking for a double room or new houseshare in North London
Hi everyone, my name is Charlie (Charlotte) and I’m looking to move at the beginning of January into a double room in an existing houseshare, or start a lovely new one.  I’d like to live with 2 or 3 other women who are in their 20s or early 30s – I am 23 myself.  Most importantly, I’d like to share with like-minded individuals who can become friends, as well as respecting each other’s own time and space too.  I work part time in Archway and I’m studying arts psychotherapy part time.  My main interests and hobbies are the arts, especially live music, theatre and dance, spirituality, cooking, nature and travelling.
Ideally I’m looking to live in the areas of: Finchley, Highgate, Archway, Tufnell Park, Kentish Town, Camden Town, Angel, Chalk Farm, Belsize Park, Hampstead, Golders Green.
My budget is 600pcm.
Please do get in touch if you are interested or know anyone that might be. 07754380539 charlottesophie@dsl.pipex.com

Hi there,
I looking for somewhere to stay in London between 29th December and 3rd January (and a bit longer if possible).  My partner will be coming to visit over the New Year, so somewhere that's not shared would be ideal.
If anyone has, or knows of, somewhere that I could stay, I'd be really grateful.

Dance Your Art Out
A 5Rhythms & Creativity Workshop
November 28-29, Poland
with Sarah Davies and Katarzyna Pugowska.
In this, our first collaboration, we are delighted to be offering an opportunity to explore the creative process through Dance and Art.
How can we unlock our patterns and move beyond familiar ways of expressing our creativity? How can we use the creative process as a bridge to expressing our true free selves? We will use the 5Rhythms (flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical and stillness)as a map to connect with our bodies and creativity, extending this towards spontaneous mark-making and collage.
Sarah is a 5Rhythms teacher and Artist with a degree in Fine Art, Kat is an Art Therapist and Artist training to teach the 5Rhythms. We met through 5Rhythms and have danced alongside eachother for six years. We've both had a journey where 5Rhythms has been a huge force in rekindling and fuelling our creativity.
No experience in Art or Movement necessary, just a willingness to experiment, move and be moved.
Cost: £85
Dates: 28, 29 november , Saturday 11am–6pm Sunday 10am–5pm
Venue: Poland, Lodz, ul. Nowopolska 12/14
For more information and booking contact Kat: kpugowska@interia.pl or 0044 7886935716

ART & MOVEMENT IN PROCESS
Witnessing Self
The body is the carrier, the grounding, the outward act of internal Self. We listen and attend, letting the symbols and images of the symbol making process speak, trying increasingly to hear what our unconscious is saying. Connecting to that core of order in ourselves is a joyous and empowering experience, which often takes place beyond the realm of words.
Finding ourselves `at home` in our bodies, we come into touch with our inner most strengths. We learn to LISTEN to our inner voice, to find our personal truth for this present moment and so become more fully who we are, in our complexity and beauty and meet others from that profound place.
If you have any questions or there is some unknowing land you wish to uncover then this group is for you
We will work with personal process and witnessing through art and movement, allowing spontaneous impulses to take us on a journey into our inner worlds.
We will use simple art techniques and movement meditations.

Our beautiful house in Brixton
Seven of us live in a massive Victorian house in Brixton with a beautiful garden. We are looking to fill two rooms. One is a single, the other could be single or for a couple, both to be filled from October.
About us: we are in our 20s and 30s and work to 'do good' in different ways. We take it in turns to cook veggie dinners for each other, making the space pretty open and communal. We have a vegetable patch, a piano, lots of bikes, lots of space and lots of smiles. We don't have a tv.
We're looking for someone who likes the sound of us and is keen to live in a shared way.
Smaller room is £325/month
Bigger room is £440/month for one person, and a bit more for two.
Ring Hannah on 07828771592 for a chat about us and the house.

RENTAL REQUEST - looking for a large attractive double room, with storage space for clothes and books.  I love beauty, space and colour...  Looking for Clapham area, my ideal is within a 10min walk of Clapham Junction.
What I do - I work as a freelance coach/mentor/trainer – mainly with young people.  I freelance and as with all us freelancers, on the days when not with clients it’s all about work generation!  I do like to go to local cafes etc and I also like to be free to work from home – my preference is to work out of a room that isn’t my bedroom (such as a living room/kitchen).  Therefore a decent living space is on the hit list...
Visitors – My boyfriend lives in Clapham and I’ll spend a couple of nights at his most weeks and would like him to be welcome to spend a couple of nights with me.
Me and My personality! - I love to laugh and talk yet also really appreciate being able to keep to myself....that sort of comfortable silence with two people in a room, or being able to just get on with your own thing.  I’m pretty relaxed really, very easy to be around, I do like things tidy and clean but am by no means anal about it J  I love music and plants and sleeping...not really a houseparty person anymore! J
Hobbies – dance, 5 rhythms, yoga/somatics/feldenkrias..., writing, reading, meditation, healthy cooking, lover of alternative therapies and understanding human potential/behaviour... a big sense of humour and realism, which balances out any potential fluffiness as my friends would say!!!
Born in London – travelled quite a bit – back in London and loving it!  Olivia Flaxman  M: 07947472135  E: olivia@oliviaworks.co.uk

Introductory offer for
Thai-Yoga Massage
Hi all body-movers
Do you feel like you would need some pampering? Why not give yourself a treat by receiving a recession-proof session of Thai massage?
Thai-Yoga massage or Traditional Thai massage is an ancient practice in which the therapist engages her bodyweight, combining stetching techniques with pressure on energy lines to restore the client’s energy flow and own potential to heal. It is applied from feet to head on a clothed client and ideally lasts for about 90 minutes.
Here are some quotes from friends and clients in their feedback after a massage with me:
“It’s like a passive yoga session, it’s great”
“All my bodyparts feel really a-live now. I am very grateful”
“Thank you so much. I loved the touch. It opens up a whole new universe to me”
“I feel calm, whole and at peace”
I studied Thai massage both in Brussels and Thailand. I am a Belgian woman, into dancing and voice work among other things, and have lived in London for 3 years. My approach is sensitive and professional.
As I am launchng this new service, I am offering introductory sessions at very small prices to the community – as well as a special price for low/non-waged people – open to exchange too. Weather permitting I am also proposing outdoors sessions. Fully insured.
To book with me or to know more about Thai massage, contact Laurence Clapdorp; Mob: 07533132169; Email: lo.london@gmail.com

Do, Re ,Mi
This video  was made in the  Antwerp , Belgium Central (Train) Station on  the 23rd of March 2009. . .  . with no warning to the passengers passing through the  station, at 08:00 am  a recording of Julie Andrews singing 'Do, Re, Mi' begins to  play on the public address system. As the  bemused passengers watch in amazement, some 200 dancers begin to appear  from the crowd and station entrances.. They created  this amazing stunt with just two rehearsals! Enjoy!

Live in the light - colour light therapy training in September
The School of Awakening is running two colour light therapy foundation courses in September. The first is in Notting Hill in London from 4-6 September, the second at Osho Leela from 11-13 September.
Colour light uses a torch and different coloured crystal rods on acunpuncture points to bring to the surface physical, emotional and soul-level issues. If you want to know more, check out: www.schoolofawakening.com/colour-light-therapy.php
When you've done the foundation course, you can go on to the practioner training if you wish (starting this November at Croydon Hall in Somerset), but you can also just use what you learn at foundation level to treat yourself and friends and family.
"For me, colour light is the most amazing healing method. I've experienced and witnessed profound transformations from it, I find it be a really wonderful tool for clearing issues of this life, past lives, and helping me to come to terms with the simple fact of being a human being alive on this planet!" M, Bristol
To book on either course, contact Sidika on: 0117 927 2445,  Mob: 07742 053198, Email: colour@schoolofawakening.com

This is to all the dance therapists out there..
Hi!
I am very interested to communicate with anyone who has done or is doing a course in dance therapy. I am potentially aiming to begin my journey in this area, and am looking for more information especially in the london area. So far i have looked at Goldsmiths and Roehampton, they both seem excellent, but theres more information about the staff and course content at Roehampton, both foundation courses are around 6 months leading onto M.A. Question is which is the better university, course?. Have you studied at either?
All information or personal experience about the dance therapy courses/industry and careers welcome.
Many thanks! Dana

Move into De-light with a delicious day of Tantra Trancedance!
Trancedance is a rhythmic journey through sound, movement and breath. It is dance as a potentially spiritual experience, a meditation and a healing practice in which we move the body to release tension, explore expression and allow emotion - in order to remember a state of wholeness and sensuality. This day is a chance to dive really deeply into the darkness and ride your inner waves, whether you are already a lover of Trancedance, or a complete virgin!
The group normally costs £30, but if you are one of the first six people to book before 5pm this Sunday, 19th July, you can have it for the bargain price of £15!!
If you book between Sunday 5pm and Saturday 26th July at 5pm, the cost is £25. After that, its £30. It's fine to pay on the door, but let me know if you are planning to come so I can have ideas of numbers. If anyone coming from outside Bristol needs help somewhere to stay overnight, I can probably help with that.
If you haven't experience Trancedance before or want to know more about it, see this site: www.trancedance.com. It has lots of information about what Trancedance is and some really cool photos and videos! And if you have any more questions about the process or the day, please get in touch.

closed group
ART & MOVEMENT IN PROCESS
Journey through a body & art
The body is the carrier, the grounding, the outward act of internal Self. We listen and attend, letting the symbols and images of the symbol making process speak, trying increasingly to hear what our unconscious is saying. Connecting to that core of order in ourselves is a joyous and empowering experience, which often takes place beyond the realm of words.
Finding ourselves `at home` in our bodies, we come into touch with our inner most strengths. We learn to listen to our inner voice, to find our personal truth for this present moment and so become more fully who we are, in our complexity and beauty.
If you have any questions or there is some unknowing land you wish to uncover then this group is for you
Through a period of 8 weeks we will work with personal process through art and movement, allowing spontaneous impulses to take us on a journey into our inner worlds. We will use simple art techniques and movement meditations.
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY
GRUP STARTS ON MONDAY 31 AUG `09 AT 8PM–9.45PM

Room to rent in Brixton
Six of us live in a spacious Victorian house in Brixton with a beautiful garden. We are looking for both a single person and a couple, independently, to fill space that will be vacant at the end of June. About us: we are in our 20s and 30s and work to 'do good' in different ways. We take it in turns to cook veggie dinners for each other and tend to share almost everything, making the space pretty open and communal. We have a vegetable patch, a piano, lots of bikes, lots of space and lots of smiles. The room for the single is £420pcm, while the room for the couple is for £650pcm, both not including bills.
Please call Hannah on 07828771592 for a chat about us and the house or to arrange a visit.

ROOTS with Johnathan Horan
Thanks so much to everyone who has help and support over the last week, someone has come forward to take my place in training trilogy in Belgium with Johnathan Horan and I'm feeling very grateful.
Unfortunately I am still waiting for a few things to fall into place for me and as such I again will be unable to take my place in another workshop with Jonathan that I was hoping to attend.
ROOTS with Johnathan Horan, level is waves, from the June 28 to July 3 in Kiental, Switzerland, www.kientalerhof.ch. (www.gabrielleroth.com)
If someone has interest in taking my place the cost would be SFr. 1277 (I have already paid the SFr. 319 deposit) all meals and accommodation are included. There is a range of different levels of accommodation so there is an option of reducing the price if that is helpful.  Don’t hesitate to get in touch, thanks again!

Hi
I am looking for a place to stay in London, ideally a twin room or even a house/flat-sit arrangement, from Saturday 13 June through to the morning of Wednesday 15 July, when I head off to Buddhafield and thence to pastures new.
It'll be for me and (part of the time) a dancer/yogini friend who is in a similar between-places state - hence the need for two rather than one sleeping places. Doesn't have to be beds, could be a sofa and a place to lay a couple sleeping mats. But somewhere secure, with facilities to cook, eat, wash bodies and clothes would be very helpful!

Brazilian Portuguese
Hey, I would like to find a native Brazilian Portuguese speaker to practise speaking with on a weekly basis for a few months. I lived in Brazil for 6 months but since I lived in Italy for a year I find it difficult to remember Brazilian Portuguese. Since I'm going back this summer I want to brush up. It would be an hour/ and hour and a half a week of speaking and some grammar. I'd love you to have teaching experience and an interest in 5 rhythms or other alternative stuff (we'll have more to talk about!!) but it's not absolutely necessary. I'm also open if anyone has any friends they can recommend who'd like a bit of extra money. I'm also a reiki practitioner so could offer a treatment instead of money also. Please email shriila@yahoo.com

Farrer Road, N8 8LD. Available from mid May:- Lovely, single room, overlooking garden, to rent in our beautiful, peaceful, family house. We are looking for a non-smoking, quiet, tidy, self-contained female, preferably non-meat eating, who would like to live in a pleasing and comfortable environment. We are (hopefully!), friendly and helpful and are happy to have the occasional chat, however, we both work and tend to get up and go to bed early so are often too tired to socialise with our lodgers! We have 7 children between us, who come and go as uni holidays dictate and so our house is generally full. For this reason, although we welcome visitors in the day, we do not wish for anyone else to sleep here overnight.
The house is in a lovely area, close to Alexandra Palace, Highgate Woods and lots of other green spaces. There are regular buses to Finsbury Park, Turnpike Lane and Highgate Tube (can also walk there). Overground to Kings Cross and Moorgate is walkable too.
If you are interested. Please email:-aizenbergjenp@hotmail.co.uk
Rent is £105/wk inclusive (apart from  telephone!).
Thanks
Jennifer

MAYA ABDOMINAL MASSAGE
A year ago, as part of an ongoing search for some answers I was seeking, I visited Belize in to study a form of  abdominal massage work,  rooted in the Maya healing tradition. You may or may not be familiar with it as it is quite new  to the UK.
It is a very beautiully practical but spiritually connected form of bodywork, particularly useful for womens health and fertility and incorporates a self care routine. It has been developed over 30 years by an American Natraprath who mentored with a traditional Maya shaman alongside many experienced midwives and healers amongst the plants and rainforests of Central America.
I am  currently  urgently looking for 30 women to work with between now and April 1st.
A bit of a long shot perhaps, but thought I would give it a go.
I want to  offer  anyone who replies to this, a  specially reduced rate of £20/£25 for a one and a half treatment that includes a consultation and instruction in self care and freshly grown herbs to take home for use in a cleansing steam treatment/ritual if appropriate.
My experience and training over the last decade has taken in a variety of forms including holistic massage, cranial sacral work, massage for pregnancy, Indian head massage, and studies in shamanic healing and have worked professionally out of the Kailash Centre of Oriental Medicine. My original background is in music; and creative things: dance, movement and exploring colour as a visual artist are all very close to my heart.
The treatments will take place from my  current home in Edgware, a peaceful location overlooking a park that was part of an old woodland,at the end of the Northern line, and are available from between 8.00am and 9pm on weekdays or weekends.
If this appeals to you please contact me on 07815 314847  or 0208 958 8848 and I will be more than happy to chat  with you and give you any further information you require.
with love and thanks.

After the bell you have a chance to speak your movement to your witness, in the first person, along with any attendant images, feelings etc. As you wish you may receive 'witnessing' on the movement you have   shared, again in the first person and here including any images, feeling etc. that arose in the witness in relation to your movement. There then follows the opportunity for dialogue. This is a simple discipline with great power. The strictness of the form brings safety and the awareness that is brought to the free unfolding movement can help facilitate learning on many levels. There is an opportunity for the unknown and the unconscious to come into  consciousness.
I am learning the form from Prof. Helen Payne SRDMT who studied under Janet Adler, an early exponent of the form. Helen herself was one of the early pioneers of Dance Movement Therapy in this country. She currently teaches Authentic Movement in Letchworth, Herts.
What I am looking for is someone to teach the form to who may be interested in practising it with me. Initially I am thinking there would just be two of us, taking it in turns to move and witness, for say an hour and a half or so once a week. In time it would be great to expand it and get more people.
If interested drop me a line or call on 07826 727 673

5 Rhythms with Cathy Ryan
Unwrapping Presence
28th February - 1st March, POLAND
Presence - being alive and awake to what is, moment by moment Grounded in the body, rooted in the heart, open to the creativity of our soul as we travel towards an ever awakening consciousness of being through movement, simply being here, in this body, this life whatever comes our way
Through the moving map of the 5 Rhythms - flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical and still - we will explore and invite the experience of being present to what is, in movement The 5 Rhythms is a moving dynamic meditation where we engage with our moving life force and inherent creativity to explore and call ourselves home present and alive in our body, heart, mind and soul. There are no steps to learn, just a willingness to turn up and move through these five archetypal landscapes
Cathy has been dancing and studying the 5 Rhythms for 10 years and has been teaching for over four years She teaches around the UK and abroad holding regular groups in London and Oxford. She also works in theatre, writes poetry and studies and practices movement and shamanism ongoingly with wonderful teachers.

closed group - ART & MOVEMENT IN PROCESS - Journey through a body & art
The body is the carrier, the grounding, the outward act of internal Self.
We listen and attend letting the symbols and images of the symbol making process speak, trying increasingly to hear what is being said through.
Connecting to that core of order in ourselves is a joyous and empowering experience, which often takes place beyond realm of words.
Finding ourselves `at home` in our bodies, we come in touch with our inmost strengths. We learn to listen to our inner voice, to find our personal truth for this present moment, and so become more fully who we are, in our complexity and beauty.
if you have any question or unknowing land you wish to uncover, this group is for you
through period of 8 weeks we will work with personal process through art and movement, allowing spontaneous impulses to take us for a journey to inner world
we will use simple art techniques and movement meditation

Fire in Beckenham Dance Studios
Hi!
You may already be aware that there has been a fire at the Dance Studios in Beckenham where Emma Leech holds her Thursday evening Wave, so her classes will not be taking place there for a while. A shout is going round for an alternative venue in the Beckenham area for all the activities at the Dance Studio so I thought I'd pass it on.

Looking for possible live / work sharers
Hi there,
I am looking for others who may be interested in carving out a gorgeous 'temple' living / working type space in a warehouse or other unusual / alternative building. I am interested in areas like Hackney Wick, Hackney, Dalston, Clapton, Stoke Newington etc - generally NE (good for Sat nights at St George's! :-) though I would consider other areas.
I am looking for more space x less ££££ - I work PT for an arts org and my income is low comparative to cost of living in London. I seek similar mature sharers (pref in 30's or older though not essential), to create a loving and beautiful living space, and maybe to share a gorgeous organic veg box! Basically I would like nice size space for living and to make things and be creative, space to dance and maybe a big living room come group space to let for workshops (our own or other peoples) to offset rent costs. My budget is around £450 pcm inc max - it will require some imagination and probably some initial building / conversion / investment to get what I want at this price - but watching the kind of places that come up on Gumtree / offices for some months now (lots of spaces becoming vacant due to recession...) - I think it is possible.
For the kind of spaces I mean see www.amazing-space.org.uk (warehouse units) or look under the office space listings of London Gumtree (e.g: www.gumtree.com/london/39/32042739.html or www.gumtree.com/london/39/32036939.html).
Am Female 37 - interests include arts, Tantra, meditation, dance and recently voice work. Given the choice, I prefer to live in houses that have no TV. Email me a little about yourself if interested.
Thanks,

wanting to share a house
Hi , I am looking to move into an established house of people living communally. Not in each others pockets but consciously . I have fairly recently moved from south London and would love to be somewhere around Newington Green. In South London I had my own flat and cafe having been in the catering business most of my working life. The last few years have been a sort of midlife break for me.  I have now sold my business and my flat and have more recently been more involved in yoga and Thai Yoga Massage which I am currently trying to do as much practice as possible.I have just been to my first 5 rhythms evening and know I have found a space I want to move in more regularly...I loved it. At the moment I am living quite happily in Stoke Newington and am not needing to leave at any speed but it is time for me to move to somewhere where I think I will be on a more permanent  basis and I wish to live around more woman rather that the three lovely but all male flatmates that I have now. If you have a room and think I might fit in please contact me susannah@gmail.com with love

Wanted a room for February
I am looking for a spacious but can be very bare room in a house to share with mature lovely people. I am not into house politic I live very happily with almost anyone and any animals but not smokers. I came from a big family and miss the daily noise of a family life...suppers, lunches, friends round...individual nuances I find amusing rather than irritating. I currently happily share a house in Stoke Newington but feel its time to move on to be with healthy , happy people doing their own thing within a solid living space....My nuance is a need for light and space and to be at the top of the house or the room that goes into the garden ......anywhere near to Stoke Newington or closer to the city  would be great . The Movement Revolution
Imagine us creating a small & diverse community of movers, a diverse group of dancers who will get to know eachother creatively by moving with each other, opening & maintaining a moving dialogue without knowing where the movement will take us as a group, developing a strong group Identity & moving forward together & expressing ourselves with great power...
Im Anu, 28, into Healing, therapy, dance (Authentic Movement & 5 Rythms) & spirituality, Politically I swing way over to the left. I have been a part of several therapy based groups and have seen and experienced the potential for groups to really cultivate amazing and beautiful moments (not without difficulty of course). I have been inspired by what is possible when we work together and commit ourselves to a group process. I imagine going out into the streets of London & finding interesting spaces to move in as a group & witnessing each other..I imagine performing in strange places, I imagine doing wild things as a way of bringing attention to certain political/world issues, I imagine that there are many possibillites that I simply can't imagine alone! I am open to absolutely anything & everthing, possibillities are endless..
My idea is to initially bring together 6-10 people from diverse dance backgrounds making sure that everyone's experience in dance is quite different from the other (as bringing 6 contact dancers together might not provide the necessary creative friction to maximise the groups growth potential) & open a creative dialogue to explore possibillities. Then an initial 7-12 week period where we would each take it in turns to lead the group in a weekly 3 hour workshop on our chosen approach to dance, could be any movement based workshop as long as everyone has something very different to offer, people could also co-lead the group if there are several members with relatively similar interests, anything is possible! Also including in these weekly workshops a group sharing process where we can air any issues we might be having in our lives or with each other, we would facillitate each other in this process. After the initial period we could open another creative dialogue to explore where we are as a group & what to do next. We might decide to continue workshops for longer and deepen our group dynamic or we might choose to manifest an amazing performance idea, anything possible!
If you resonate with what I have written and you are interested, you have the time to commit to the process & you are an experienced artist/dancer please get in touch telling me about you & what your interests are, we'll take it from there.

Would you like to learn a lifechanging skill?
Quantum Touch (QT) is a hands on energy healing technique that is unique in both its speed and effectiveness. Using only a very light touch QT produces the most remarkable results many have ever seen in any healing modality yet.
QT is based on raising frequency and vibration, which in turn inspires the body's healing process and creates a rapid healing response.
On this powerful 2 day workshop you will learn:
How long standing pain disappears, headaches melt away, back pain is either reduced or gone, sports/movement injuries heal rapidly, frozen shoulder is released, muscular pain is relieved, emtional healing takes place at a very deep level and how severe long term conditions can be greatly eased at the very least.
You will gain enough experience to go home and start getting powerful results with yourself, family and friends.
No experience is necessary to learn Quantum Touch. Please contact me for more information and upcoming UK dates. Next workshop is September 21/22 08 and London workshops are held monthly. I am also happy to teach private workshops for groups of friends etc..
The workshop costs £230 and includes a certificate of attendance which counts towards Practitioner certification.
I am a qualified Quantum Touch Practitioner and Instructor, Bio-Energy healing Practitioner (Domancic Method), Reiki Practitioner and am well versed in several other energy therapy techniques. I am also a graduate of Tony Robbins Mastery University.

FREE RETURN FLIGHT TO ITALY
I rather prematurely purchased a return flight to Pisa – leaving 20th August and returning 9th September. I’m not going now and wondered if anyone would like to use them. I think there is an admin fee for changing names. Not sure how much that would be? And I’d be happy to assist in that process. Shout if you’re interested.

Weekly Authentik Movement GrouP
Hey everyone, I am attempting to set up a weekly Authentic Movement Peer Group in the north London area, please forward this email to enyone you know who is interested in Free Movement, meditation, dance or anything of the like..
What is Authentic Movement?
see http://www.authenticmovement.org/info.html for reading lists & basic explanation.
or http://www.thinkbody.co.uk/papers/embodying.htm more info
The Group will meet on Monday Evenings 7-9pm (or there abouts) starting from Monday 30th June, we will initially book a 6 week block and see how it goes. I am in contact with Stoke Newington N16 Dance Space & am awaiting confirmation of their space being available, either way it will be in North London, if any of you have any ideas about nice spaces then let me know! If there are 8 of us then it it shouldnt cost us more than 12-18pounds each per 6 week block to hire space!
It is important to note this will be a Co-Operative Peer Group & we will facillitate each other within our processes, I am NOT taking role of Facillitator but only role of Co-ordinator, we can share ideas for warm up exercises & set up a basic A.M. structure which we can work with progressively, exploring new ways of moving, witnessing, seeing & being seen...This will be a space for basic practice of Authentic Movement & group sharing/processing..You dont need to have experience of AM although it would be helpful, I would suggest that anyone joining should be 'ego-concious', self responsible & should have had some interest & experience within a spiritual discipline or practice such as meditation, tai chi, qui gong, yoga, free dance, 5 rhythms, contact improv, skinner release, or anything of the like..
If you are interested in joining this weekly A.M. group then please email me Anu on walkingwithasmile@yahoo.co.uk & I will send you an invite to the E-group I am setting up, also email me with any ideas/comments..
hope to hear from you all soon!
Love Anu

Presence in Motion
A weekend workshop with Fanny Behrens
14th, 15th and 16th March 2008
(7-10pm on Fri; 11am-6pm on sat & sun)
How can I live my life from a deeper, truer place; be who I am without apology,
without needing to cover, cloak, hide, justify, change myself?
What is it to actually land in my own body, and live from it, express through it,
awake and alive in each moment, whether it feels good or not?
How possible is it for me to know love; to give and receive love, to touch
and be touched by myself, other people, nature, life itself?
Movement of being is a radical and incredibly simple exploration of these questions, with the body as our starting point. The simple awareness of the breath and of sensation in the body, is the beginning. Then we explore what it is to be in our bodies so that we can express and move how and who we are in each moment. This movement allows what is to flow; what holds us back, to be seen; getting to know ourselves in a very fresh new way. Becoming present - not catching what was or what might be, but finding a curiosity and interest in what actually is happening . And all of this involves a willingness to be surprized by ourselves and our responses to the world.
Max 12 participants
cost: £150 (some concessions negotiable)

Meisner Class
"Living in the Moment!"
Classes
· Interested in bringing more dynamism to your work or life?
· Gaining more confidence?
· Or building on your creativity?
Starting Tuesday the 1st of October, weekly from 6:30-9:30pm, this class is open to anyone who wants to develop their spontaneity, presence or attention.
This work can also help add new dimensions to your work and raise awareness about old patterns that maybe holding you back. The main programme is based on the Repetition Game, originally devised by Sanford Meisner for actors to become more alive on stage. Using the insights gained here, this class will focus on your ability to pay attention, get over your inhibitions and enrich your ability to live truthfully in the moment - whether you want to be on stage or far from it! Each class will involve a warm-up, some group work & focused pair work.
The classes run on a drop-in basis, but they will be progressive, so attendance from the beginning is encouraged.

Candid Arts, 3 Torrens St, Angel, EC1V 1NQ (behind Angel Tube)

It would be lovely to see you there. Please book as soon as you can - early booking cut off date is

Stars and Inner Stories -
Mythology, Movement and Astrology in the healing process
Ana Isabel and Mary Smail
"We are born at a given moment in a given place and like vintage years of wine
we have the qualities of the year and of the season in which we are born. Astrology does not lay claim to anything else." Carl Jung
This innovative workshop provides the opportunity to explore the energy of the Sun and the Moon in the skies above and within our personal life story. The day is neither about horoscopes or performance! We will experience solar and lunar energy through hearing and enacting of a myth and then draw our individual meaning by applying the wisdom of the heavens through the ancient science of astrology. The day is for anyone interested in gaining a fundamental exploration of an archetypal and star perspective on life. It is also a call to therapists and carers to investigate the potential for combining primordial ways of knowing in modern day therapy and the delivery of care services. Ana Isabel is an experienced Astrologer who combines the ancient art of Astrology with Jungian psychology. She promotes astrology regularly on BBC radio and on LBC in London and is a trainer at the College of Psychic Studies in

Dear Dancers
I'm starting a new group. The first session is planned for Sunday June 10th, 10am - 5pm. The idea being that this group meets for a full days work together every two months. I will be holding a safe and creative space in which community can be built and anything and everything to do with being human, can be explored and moved with in different ways. As well as talking, listening and sharing I will be using movement, sound, energy-work and meditation as part of the process/journey of the sessions. I am a psychotherapist and writer: energetic, warm experienced and safe. I am particularly interested in the medicine of circles and groups. Move, be moved, write! A 5 Rhythms/Poetry workshop
Dear friends,
This Friday, the 5th and 6th of May, Jay Ramsay and Lara Fiedler will bring "Dancing Poetry" to Peredur Centre for the Arts in East Grinstead. Jay is poet-in-residence at St. James' (Picadilly) and teaches creative writing workshops, and Lara is a Gabrielle Roth trained 5 Rhythms teacher and also a professional visual artist. The Stroud-based pair give workshops together combining their many creative skills. (See poem by Jay below)
The Friday night will be part of the East Grinstead Poetry Cafe, starting at 7:30. In the first half, anyone may speak a poem (their own or another's), and in the second half, Jay and Lara will perform, combining Jay's Poetry with Lara's movement to bring us something new.
Then on Saturday morning, they will offer a dancing/writing workshop from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is £20 (includes refreshments). We will explore how movement and creation work together. There is no experience necessary. You can call to either event or both.

Doing nothing about this,
Or the day, or the time.
I don't know and I don't know
Lying back with the light behind my eyes
Watching the mind stop --
Watching my watch stop,
Letting it go.

Thought-free, as the light is
As I drop whatever words come, one by one
Into the light's depth, the lap lap of water
And a half buried book left open in the sand
With its torn bleached pages I saw myself
Slowly scattering into the water --
And pages and pages I just crossed out.
Standing in the water and the water was light
Splashing it over each other and laughing
As we talked to each other with our eyes --

And now you lie with your face in silence,
I look at myself dissolving as I step
Forward to where I can carry nothing
Only the light of what is already in me,
Becoming that self as it has always been
Endlessly begun, and about to begin.

Hi,
Well, I'm recently back from another module of the Heartbeat training with Gabrielle, with plenty to think about, dance about and practice.  It was so good to immerse myself in the dancing and learning, as well as spending time with people who I don't often get to see.
And suddenly - here's Autumn, two ongoing groups, and our open classes at St George's continue to thrive.  I'm musing about the Autumn sessions - Lost Souls and our fundraising night for Amnesty International and the Medical Foundation, and, after Christmas, the chance to dance the New Year in!  There are some more details below.  I hope you find something to entice you, and a reminder to check out the website every now and then - www.ACallToDance.com
Lots of love, wishing us all a delightful Autumn, with stuff we're done with danced loose, and falling free, as simply as leaves from a tree, ready to provide mulch for what's to come.   Sue xx

Mooncup - Dear Dancing friends, About a year ago I discovered the mooncup and have been so pleased and impressed that I wish someone had told me about it twenty years ago. So I try to take opportunities to let others know about it when I can. With many of you being socially and environmentally aware I thought this noticeboard would be a good place to let people know. Its a menstrual cup that you can use instead of tampons or sanitary towels. Its re-usable and will last for many years. You don't notice when you are wearing it, once you are used to it. It means that you have no waste as a result of your period. I find it much more convenient than tampons. If you would like to know more then either visit the website www.mooncup.co.uk or feel free to email me Jessinamerica@hotmail.com. (I make no money from this by the way). regards, Jess Gold

E-mail from Maggie Sisson
Subject: tales of saris, elephant head gods, and chappaties!
Dear dear Sue and my many dancing friends,
I have now been in India for one week, it's super hot and so so good to be 'home'. I have been thinking of you, not only because I know you will be dancing tonight but because circumstances did not allow me to be able to dance in my last weeks in London.
I'm only sorry that I didn't have chance to say goodbye, to be able to give all those special people that I call friends a big squeeze, and tell how much they mean to me wherever in the world we may find ourselves. So I send love via the ether and ask you that you pass on my email address (purplemaggie@hotmail.com) to anyone who would like to get in touch. I would be delighted to hear from you and should anyone be travelling in this part of the world (South East India) you are most welcome to look me up.
I join you all sending most heartfelt thoughts and healing energy to all those affected by the recent troubles in London and pray you are all safe. I've attached an email that was sent to me, feels kind of appropriate to forward it on.
For now, big love
Maggie xxxxx

Feeling Safe in the Face of Fear
The voice of fear is incredibly predictable. Although there are endless variations on the theme, in one way or another it always says, “'Play small and be safe.” But one of the things I'm most passionate about is this: Feeling confident and safe to create a life we love is not about getting rid of our fears. They are an integral part of our human operating system. It's human nature to be afraid. Most often we’re afraid of being hurt and feeling unloved. It is a part of our make-up to be afraid of the unknown; to be afraid of the future. And yet we don’t have to allow these fears to keep us repeating the same patterns and making the same choices over and over again. We can stop, turn toward them, and look more deeply. When we meet them head-on, they no longer have the power. We do.
What is underneath your fear? What’s deeper than the fears you tend to consciously focus on? Is it fear of being vulnerable, or fear of surpassing someone you love by succeeding in your own life? Perhaps it’s fear of being abandoned or rejected? When we look deeply, we see that the real problem isn’t that we get rejected (or abandoned, hurt or humiliated) by others. The problem is what we do to ourselves when we get rejected. The problem is what we say to ourselves. The sharper pain comes from what we make it mean about us when these things happen. We are much harder on ourselves than life is. But that can change, right here and right now.
A recipe for feeling safe in the face of fear:
1.  Consider what would be possible in your life if you quietly proclaimed, “I will love myself no matter what others say or do. I will care for myself no matter what happens.” Imagine how safe you could feel with that level of commitment, tenderness and compassion for yourself.
2.  When making a decision and preparing to take action, remember to ask yourself: Is this an act of faith, or is it an act of fear? Standing on an internal platform of faith allows a deep sense of safety to blossom, trust to grow and courage to expand. As you practice loving your insecurities and having faith in the universe, bigger possibilities open up, miracles happen, and before you know it, you’re living the best year of your life!
Take Action Now!
If you keep growing and evolving one thing that will continue to show up is fear. If you’re doing something big, you are going to get scared. I’m clear that every time I do something beyond what I’ve done before, I’m confronted with my fears. But I recognize that facing my fears, going beyond them and being the highest expression of myself is the life that I’m committed to creating. And life outside of my fears is an extraordinary adventure.
This week, use fear as a springboard. Use it to dive into a deeper conversation about your life. Take out your journal and ask yourself this question: What would I be doing with my life if fear wasn’t my excuse?
“I have accepted fear as part of life - specifically the fear of change.… I have gone ahead despite the pounding in the heart that says: turn back.” - author Erica Jong

Hi to everyone, I have only recently developed an interest in 5 rhythms and i have undertaken a research paper at university on how this type of therapy views trauma (especially PTSD) and seeks to treat it. I would greatly appreciate any information on current research or literature. Anything, please!!!

Aylesbury - Saturday 9 November 2002

Hi. I have been going to Five Rhythms for two months now and want to acknowledge how profound the experience has been for me, going there and discovering all of these things about myself. I was introduced by a friend who had been dancing for many years, and I was completely taken aback by what I experienced in my first class, which was Sue's late Tuesday class. I would like to thank Sue for her amazing teaching and for the wondrous space we use to dance in, and to say that I always look forward to Tuesday evenings. ... I would also like to ask anyone using this noticeboard if they can help me with the following: I would like to know if anyone knows of a course in assertive decison-making. I know of a course at the Mary Ward centre but this is running in June 2003 which is too far away! The other request is whether anybody can recommend a good nutritionist who can provide their services without it being costly. I have been hunting around for one but have been put off by high prices, so if anyone can help I would be grateful. One last thing, the email address in this message is a work email for only two weeks more. I will let you know when I have my own personal email. Well, thanks a lot and joyousness to all. Tommy

Dear Fear of Dancing, This may be a bit biased of me, but I want to say to you - just come. This Tuesday? We have a good use for your nervousness! I think it'll be impossible to figure oout whether to come and try it, so...... Oh and you know said that you know you're not alone in this nervous thing? You're right - and a whole bunch of the others who feel the same way are here, getting over or getting on with their nerves! Some people tell me they have to get over it every week! Come and say hello when you come in - looking forward to dancing with you! Sue x x

Is there any one in Surrey, like myself, who can't travel to London every week and would be into helping organise a peer group? I live in a caravan and work full time and so don't feel like I have the energy to do it alone. I live between Guildford and Woking. It would be great to dance again.

Guildford - Saturday 5 October 2002

I am trying to figure out if the 5 rhytyms is for me. I have always avoided dancing. Reasons and explanations are long and not worth going into, but I am not shy, I am not uptight and I am a very musical person (have played in bands, have good rhythm etc.). After many years of this, I felt like I was missing out on an important part of life, not only socially, but spiritually as well. My first solution was to take dance classes, which I was always quite adequate with, though it doesn't help much when the party invitation includes "disco" or "clubbing." I have no problem with "set" dances like ballroom or swing, but as soon as it involves doing your own thing, I am a ball of nerves and useless. I had pretty well decided I was too old to care about this, but then I saw Gabrielle Roth's books and they seemed right on target. But when I started looking into the 5 rhythms, it seemed to be filled with people who were comfortable with dance and movement and were just taking it to another level, not people like myself for whom the thought of dancing feels like a necessary torture rather than a pleasurable part of life (even if that sense that there is something special on the other side of the fear is there). By the way, I know I am not alone. There are lots of people (men especially) who feel the same way, but don't know what to do and hide it because unlike a nice respectable fear of snakes or karaoke, this one is too silly to admit. That is a lot of outpouring for a quick message to a noticeboard, but I figure it is worth trying to see if it connects. Thanks for your indulgence.

Oh, just thought I'd glance at the noticeboard as a good as any way to distract me from what I should really be doing! And found all these make-me-grin messages.....except to that Frank Natale had died. What a musician; seems like I've always been using his music and before that, began dancing the 5R to his music. He gave us, amongst other things "let the breath connect us all", a beautiful soft chaos dance. My gratitude to him. And thanks Bob, for letting us know. Sue x x

Just seen a message saying Frank Natale (Professor Trance) has died after a long illness. Although Frank's approach to dance was in some respects different from Gabrielle's, he acknowledged his respect for her work in his writings, and many, many dancers of the Five Rhythms have used Frank's music to accompany their practice. I wish him well along the way, as many in the dancing community also do. On the web site there are many beautiful tributes, and amongst these someone has posted a very short poem which I couldn't better to express my feelings at this time: I Moved my body! I Filled with Spirit! I Opened my Eyes! I Opened my Heart! Thanks to You...... See: http://www.natale-along-the-way.org Bob

Ooooh, just back from the 5Rhythms camp in and feeling all nourished - both from the wonderul place and the way Tim has set eveything up there. Sitting in a hottub under the stars after the evening dancing in the marquee is indescribable. Sitting round a blazing woodfire, singing or quietly listening to the crackle is massively enriching in itself. I had such a good time and want to tell you. Yay for all sorts of 5Rhthyms things! Oh, and the children were the most delicous teachers in the world. Sue x x
