~About Sue~
“The dance is not where we lose ourselves but where we find ourselves” Gabrielle Roth
Sure, I loved dancing, as I partied through my teens. If anyone had told me then that it would shape my future, I would not have been able to imagine it. Yet here I am, still holding dance and movement groups after over thirty years and I feel so grateful for that. Discovering dance woke up so many layers of life in me that I hadn’t even known were dormant. I love that I have been able to pass that on to thousands of people over that time.
I trained in the 90’s as a movement therapist and a counsellor and then trained with Gabrielle Roth, founder of 5Rhythms. In 2012 I became a founding member of Open Floor International, a new conscious movement modality.
These profound teachings encourage us to be able to follow the body’s innate wisdom and imagination through movement and stillness.
I am ongoingly inspired and so grateful for working with Fanny Behrens and Colin Harrison of Movement of Being, and Joanna Watters of This Beautiful Work and I hope that what I have received from them; the love, the care and the challenges, can, in turn find its way through me to you.
I spent my 20’s hitchhiking and I travelled as a nomad in a van for years through many countries. The call of that freedom has never left me.
I love pottering with clay, crafting, sewing and feeling creative. I love good wordsmithery and well-written novels.
I swim in the ponds and the sea, getting weeds in my hair and salt on my skin.
I have 3 growing fox cubs, one red and two white, in my garden, who distract me for hours.
"Sue has a way of speaking that feels poetic. She describes things simply but in a gently profound way. I have a lot of trust in her to hold boundaries safely, quietly and clearly whatever is happening”
